This is a popular recipe with the pupils in our school.

Ingredients:


1/2 medium sized onion
1/2 medium sized carrot
1/2 stick of celery
2 rashers of bacon
25 grams frozen peas
150 gram can of chopped tomatoes
1/2 clove of garlic
small piece of turnip
1/2 potatoe
500 ml stock (1 stock cube)
50 grams of pasta shells
1x15 ml spoon of freshly chopped parsley.

Peel and finely chop the onion. Peel the carrot and turnip and dice into small pieces. Wash the celery and cut into thin strips. Peel the potatoe and cut into small pieces, and also snip the bacon into small pieces.
Fry the bacon in a saucepan for 2 - 3 minutes. add the onion, garlic, carrot, turnip and celery and fry for further 2 - 3 minutes. 
Add the stock, tomatoes and pasta and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Wash and finely chop the parsley. Add the peas and parsley and simmer for a further 10 minutes.
